Pinch or Long press home → Widget → Animated Photo Widget → Drag it to home【Chinese brand phone】
If you are using Chinese brand devices, Xiaomi, OPPO, VIVO, Huawei
They might not allow 3rd party widget updating on their launcher, it's a system limitation.
I think some people have been aware of it.
The solution is: Add the widget to the whitelist.
