Virtual gallery with watercolors from Italian artist Germana Galdi. “Reflections and transparencies” “...soft lighting, transparencies of glass and reflections in metals”. Though she comes from an artistic family, German Galdi is a self taught artist. She comes to water colour after experiencing other techniques as cloth painting, poster paint, china, dress drawing, and nude studies. She is attracted by something elaborate unearthing her qualities through unusual water colour images. Her favorite works have got little details that make work itself more and more difficult. Her artistic hand loves refinement. She pays attention to particulars in order to communicate the soul of objects. Her art arises in a very spontaneous way as her own personality does when, during a jouney, she is fascinated by some objects because of their beauty, their light, their transparency, or just because they are a remembrance of a far away flavor, a far away story... it's just this moment she wants to capture, to stop, to steal trying to send her emotion to the observer. Her subjects don't represent every day life but they symbolize a meeting occasion, they give something about themselves, something about their own life, something showing old memories. It' s a magic fun of tuning seduction among lights (soft or not) and objects: the glass is just touched or penetrated depending on the intensity, the metal is celebrated in charm and beauty. As a burning fireplace it witnesses moments of life, deep or shallow encounters, sadness, poetry, emotions and reflections... Of course it is a lightning effect but not only this. “Reflections and transparences”, born in 1996, is something similar to her personality. “Reflections” is empathy between objects and people. “Transparences” is her nature and her impulsiveness.
